Yan Da Feng (Lan Cheng Long) is a rich, arrogant, and hot tempered bad boy who refuses to honor his grandfather's wish to marry an ordinary country girl, Xie Fu An (Chen Qiao En), who is studying herbal remedies with her grandmother. To get out of the marriage, he hires a killer to get rid of her. Xie Fu An is a hardworking girl who supports her sick grandmother and young brother. One day she runs into a young man who is looking for a rare cinnamon found in their area, but this is a very protected cinnamon, and therefore she tricks him into falling into quicksand to give him retribution. Unfortunately for her though, she ends up falling in as well! This young man, named Yan Da Feng, quite resembles her grandfather Wang Cai. Yan Da Feng even ends up stealing Fu An's first kiss! Fu An's day manages to get much worse. The thieves that regularly steal the rare cinnamon from their mountain end up setting her house on fire, and her grandmother dies in the fire. All that Fu An can share with her brother now is the watch her grandfather Wang Cai gave to her grandmother, and the promise that he would come back to her one day.
